Virtual reality -- 2013

Some thoughts on the Oculus Rift -- because of the wide field of view and the lagless tracking you very rapidly lose any knowledge of your orientation in the real world. Particular genres of games/virtual worlds seem particularly suitable. Dark "horror" forests etc with stars to look up at in the gloom between the trees ("Alone in the Rift") are levels of magnitude more scary in the Rift (even with its present low resolution).
